hbt gives back: supporting children.

Gone are the days when school started after Labor Day. Oh, no. Now, school starts in August. Maybe even early August. We can't really keep up with it. I don't know how you parents deal with it, frankly.

Anyway. If you follow our site, you know that we pledge to donate to a different cause each month, for a new booking of a certain type that's made through Huckleberry Travel. So, for August, since it's back to school, we'll make a donation to the Children's Defense Fund, for each booking on our Grownup Spring Break trip. 

Children's Defense Fund has, since 1983, provided a strong, effective and independent voice for all the children of America who cannot vote, lobby or speak for themselves. They pay particular attention to the needs of poor children, children of color and those with disabilities. CDF educates the nation about the needs of children and encourages preventive investments before they get sick, drop out of school, get into trouble or suffer family breakdown. 

The Children's Defense Fund (CDF) 40th Anniversary video makes clear the accomplishments from 4 decades of pursuing justice with urgency and persistence for all children. We champion policies and programs that lift children out of poverty; protect them from abuse and neglect; and ensure their access to health care, quality education and a moral and spiritual foundation.

That work is more important than ever. We're honored to support these values.
