We're mid-way through January, already, and we're very much overdue in announcing our new monthly event, as well as our new charity for the Huckleberry Travel Gives Back initiative. So, let's fix that right now!
Huckleberry Travel Departure Lounge
Want to talk travel, bat around a few ideas for a future trip, or learn about some of the latest travel trends and deals? Join us for the Huckleberry Travel Departure Lounge! We'll be there with tips and tools for planning awesome vacations, and we're buying drinks, too!
If you've never talked to us about travel, why not join our mailing list? We'll buy you a drink. Already on our mailing list? That's okay. We'll buy you a drink, as well? Think of this sort of like "office hours" (with booze), where you can drop in, chat with us about what's on your mind, travel-wise, and maybe get some tips and ideas for your next awesome vacation. And, we'll have our laptops on-hand, just in case we find an incredible deal that you don't want to miss. At a minimum, you'll have a good time (because we're really fun). But maybe you'll also get a jump start on your next trip-of-a-lifetime!
We'll be at Hinterlands Bar on Church Ave., in Brooklyn on Saturday, January 20, 2018, between 2 and 5 p.m. Come join us!
Huckleberry Travel Gives Back
If you're playing along at home, you probably know that each month, we select a charitable cause that connects to a travel destination, and make donations to each new booking we make to those places. Well, this time, since we're late in announcing it, we're doing two destinations for TWO months.
So, for any new bookings in January and February to Africa, we'll be making a donation to Water.Org, a non-profit with a 4-star rating on Charity Navigator that has transformed hundreds of communities in Africa, South Asia, and Central America by providing access to safe water and sanitation.
And, for any bookings to Haiti made with us during January or February, we'll donate to the Haitian Health Foundation, another non-profit with a 4-Star rating from Charity Navigator. The Foundation works to improve the health and well-being of women, children, families and communities living in the greater Jérémie region through healthcare, education and community development.
Both of these are worthy causes, and whether or not you're planning to visit these places, we'd encourage anyone to make a meaningful donation. But if you book something through us, we'll be doing that, as well!
