Celebrate 10 Years of Huckleberry Travel on the Baltic

Next year marks 10 years of Huckleberry Travel, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by doing what started this whole adventure in the first place: going somewhere extraordinary.

So, from June 2–10, 2027, we’ll be sailing aboard Windstar’s Star Pride on an eight-night journey from Copenhagen to Helsinki, and we’re inviting our friends, family and clients to come along and celebrate with us.

Seven Gems of the Baltic

This is one of those itineraries where nearly every morning brings someplace completely different. We’ll begin in Copenhagen, then sail to the Danish island of Bornholm, followed by Gdansk, Poland; Klaipeda, Lithuania; Riga, Latvia; Stockholm, Sweden; and Tallinn, Estonia, before finishing in Helsinki, Finland. Even better, the itinerary includes an overnight call in Stockholm and a late-night departure from Tallinn, giving us more time to actually experience two of the trip’s marquee cities.

It’s an incredible cross-section of Northern Europe: Scandinavian capitals, beautifully preserved medieval cities, Baltic architecture, fascinating history and places that many travelers simply don’t get to on a typical European vacation.

And the ship is an important part of why we chose this particular trip.

Windstar Is a Very Different Kind of Cruise

If your mental image of cruising involves a floating city with thousands of passengers, Star Pride is pretty much the opposite.

She’s an intimate, all-suite yacht carrying just 312 guests, with only six guest decks and roughly 200 crew members. That smaller scale gives Windstar a relaxed, yacht-like atmosphere and the kind of personal service that’s increasingly difficult to find on much larger ships. The suites start at a generous 277 square feet, and the ship has multiple restaurants and lounges without the crowds and spectacle of a mega-ship.

For an itinerary like the Baltic, we think that size is particularly appealing. This is a trip about the places we’re visiting, with a comfortable, sophisticated home to come back to at the end of the day.

And Then There’s the Food

One of our favorite things about Windstar is its approach to dining.

Windstar is the Official Cruise Line of the James Beard Foundation, and the partnership is now in its second decade. The relationship goes well beyond putting a famous name on the menu. James Beard Foundation-affiliated chefs and recipes are incorporated into Windstar’s culinary program, including dishes served aboard its ships, while special culinary sailings bring recognized chefs aboard for demonstrations, dinners and destination-focused food experiences.

That philosophy fits beautifully with the way we like to travel. Food should be part of experiencing a destination, not just something you eat between shore excursions. Windstar emphasizes fresh ingredients, locally inspired cuisine and dining that feels appropriate to the places you’re exploring. And importantly, dining aboard Star Pride, including its specialty restaurants, is included rather than built around a collection of restaurant surcharges.

A Few Extras for Our Anniversary Group

Because we’ve established a Huckleberry Travel group aboard this sailing, our guests have access to special group pricing along with some valuable extras.

Our group package includes Windstar’s All-Inclusive Package as well as $100 per person in shipboard credit. And once our group reaches the required size, we’ll also have a private cocktail party onboard, which seems particularly appropriate for a 10th birthday celebration.

We’re deliberately not making this trip about chasing the lowest possible cruise fare. We chose it because we love the itinerary, we think Windstar offers a genuinely distinctive way to travel, and we wanted our tenth anniversary to be an excuse to spend some time exploring the world with people we enjoy.
