hotel happy hour with the newman, london

At Huckleberry Travel, our Hotel Happy Hours are about more than discovering beautiful places to stay. They’re about connecting with people and businesses who care deeply about their communities—and supporting them in meaningful ways.
That’s why we’re excited to host our next Hotel Happy Hour with The Newman, a new independently owned luxury boutique hotel opening in Fitzrovia, one of London’s most creative and historically rich neighborhoods.

Why Fitzrovia—and Why The Newman
Fitzrovia has long been a neighborhood shaped by writers, artists, and independent thinkers. With deep ties to London’s literary and creative history, it has always been a place where ideas—and community—flourish side by side.
The Newman’s owners have leaned fully into that legacy. Opening in early 2026, the hotel is designed as a true reflection of Fitzrovia itself: independent, thoughtful, and deeply connected to its surroundings. Rather than existing apart from the neighborhood, The Newman is actively supporting local businesses, encouraging walkable exploration, and helping build the kind of visitor infrastructure that benefits both travelers and residents alike.
From interiors inspired by the artists and writers who once called Fitzrovia home, to lively social spaces meant to be shared by locals and guests, The Newman is less about being a destination unto itself—and more about being part of something larger.
Why This Matters to Us
That philosophy resonates strongly with us at Huckleberry Travel.
When we host Hotel Happy Hours, we intentionally choose local, independently owned venues like Hinterlands Bar, a neighborhood favorite here in Brooklyn. Supporting small businesses—whether they’re a new hotel in London or a beloved bar down the street—is part of how we think about travel and community.
Just as The Newman is investing in Fitzrovia, we believe in investing locally, building relationships, and creating experiences that feel personal rather than transactional.
Join Us
Even though The Newman doesn’t open until February 1, they’re making a special trip to Brooklyn to share this exciting new property with our clients. But, this Hotel Happy Hour isn’t only a chance to learn about an exciting new London hotel, it’s also about exploring a neighborhood with a rich creative past, and enjoying good conversation in a relaxed setting—all while supporting small businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.
No formal presentation, no pressure—just drinks, conversation, and travel inspiration. We hope you’ll join us.
