We’re back with another itinerary inspired by the 12 Days of Christmas!

On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…

…six geese a-laying.

Of course, when we think of geese, our minds pretty quickly turn to Canada. The Canada goose might be viewed by some as a pest, but we think they’re remarkable birds. Did you know that there are six subspecies of Canada goose? True story. Of these subspecies, the Western Canada Goose, though migratory, has its nesting grounds in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. And it just so happens that’s the same area where you’ll find our partner for luxury Canadian rail journeys, Rocky Mountaineer!

Rocky Mountaineer has a few routes that travel (at a very slow pace) through the Canadian Rockies, starting (or finishing) in Vancouver, with visits to Banff, Lake Louise, Calgary, Jasper, Whistler, and many other scenic locales featured on their itineraries.

The train only travels during the day, so you won’t miss a thing. Depending on the class of service, the glass-domed rail cars will give you a panoramic view, and gourmet meals are served either in the dining car or at your seat. When you arrive at your stops or your destination, your luggage will be waiting for you at your hotel. No detail goes unnoticed, and you’ll truly be taken care of at every step of your journey.

Will you see Canadian geese? Probably. And perhaps also bighorn sheep, bald eagles, moose and much more wildlife. Not to mention the specatcular scenery. So, if you’d like to visit where six geese are a-laying, just let us know!
