sacred valley, inca trail and machu picchu

If you follow us on social media, you probably noticed that we were recently traveling in Peru with our preferred travel partner, G Adventures. This was our second trip doing a very similar itinerary, and it’s pretty clear to us, now, that not all Peru trips are created equally.

G Adventures did a fantastic job with our trip—there’s a reason that their Inca Trail program wins awards—and the fact that the trip was one of the National Geographic Journeys itineraries meant that we really were able to immerse ourselves in the culture of the places we visited. We were in the Sacred Valley for nearly two full days before we visited any sites that were part of my itinerary 15 years ago—and it’s not as though they’ve built new Incan ruins recently.

It was a phenomenal trip, and we’re excited to share it with you. But G Adventures doesn’t just have one Peru itinerary—there are several different ways that you can experience Peru on an authentic, immersive G Adventures itinerary. You can do a four day Inca Trail hike, or you could do the Lares Trek. You can do a one-day inca Trail hike, or you can enjoy a more relaxed Cusco stay. Want to combine the Sacred Valley with the Amazon Basin? Or Lake Titicaca? See the Nasca Lines? Extend the trip to visit the Galápagos? We can make all of that happen in partnership with G Adventures.
