Judging from the calls we've been fielding over the weekend, one of the most popular destinations for travel in Europe this Spring and Summer will be Ireland. We've already booked it for a slew of clients, and the calls just keep coming in!

It's interesting to us that our clients who've booked Ireland with us, recently, have been pretty clear that they don't want to drive. Since the rail system in Ireland doesn't connect to many of the incredible places to see, we think that driving in Ireland is worth the potential headaches that come with driving on the wrong side of a very narrow road. In spite of that, whether it's a concern about safety, or just feeling like renting a car is a hassle, we've got a couple of work-arounds for that.

We just booked one of those work-arounds for a father/daughter week in London and Ireland, in fact. Our travelers were fine with spending most of their time in Dublin, but they wanted to be able to do at least one day-trip out to the countryside. We suggested a terrific day trip to the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren. It'll be a full day, but they're really going to see and do a lot on this excursion!

The tour visits Caherconnell Fort, built between the 10th to 12th centuries and used as a stronghold in the Burren region, protecting occupants from attack. Archaeologists continue their work at this site, looking for relics and discovering the secrets of the fort, its previous occupants and their way of living. Be careful not to step on a sheep skull!

There's also a sheepdog demonstration, where our travelers will experience the command a farmer has over his trusty sheepdog.  Ever wanted to know how the farmer manages to get the dog to follow commands to do exactly what the farmer needs? Well, this farmer will give you an insight into the training sheepdogs and a lesson about sheep farming as a profession in Ireland.

And then there are the iconic Cliffs of Moher. The cliffs are 8km long and offer a captivating panoramic view. Not only will our travelers get to stroll along the cliff tops and marvel at this natural wonder. The visitor’s center offers a short presentation about the cliffs, the surrounding area and history. But after lunch, they'll then board the viewing boat and observe the majestic Cliffs of Moher from the ocean!

We're really glad we found this excursion for our father/daughter travelers. They didn't want a week-long group tour. They didn't want to drive. And the online booking engines certainly weren't going to solve that problem for them. So--Huckleberry Travel to the rescue! Have a great trip, guys!
